WELCOME TO ZIMOCO

ZIMOCO is the only official distributor for Mercedes-Benz, Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, HAVAL and GWM passenger vehicles in Zimbabwe, as well as being the official dealership for Mitsubishi. We are also the official distributorship for Daimler Trucks and Buses which include Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and FUSO light, medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Our Head Office is located in Harare, on a 10-acre plot on Douglas Road in Workington.

ZIMOCO is popularly known in Zimbabwe as the only Mercedes-Benz distributor. This is because its first franchise was with Mercedes-Benz when it was under Lonrho in 1962. At that time it was known as Norton Motor Company. In 1980 the business was renamed ZIMOCO and was relocated to its current site at Douglas Road, where it was officially opened by the late Vice President, Simon Muzenda, on 31st October 1983.

In the year 2000, Lonrho sold ZIMOCO through a management buy out to the current owners. Over the years ZIMOCO has grown from strength to strength and has acquired more franchises such as Freightliner, FUSO and Mitsubishi. As an official distributor of the above franchises, ZIMOCO is required to support the products through maintaining sales showrooms, workshops, genuine parts and continuous training of personnel to ensure established service back up throughout Zimbabwe. The after-sales service is based at Douglas Road comprising of the Mercedes-Benz, Jeep and Chrysler workshops which service other franchises such as Mitsubishi and GWM. ZIMOCO also operates the Commercial Vehicle Workshop, the Body Repair Centre for accidental damages to vehicles and the Central Parts Department which stocks parts for all of ZIMOCO’s franchises. The commercial vehicle, GWM and Mitsubishi sales are based at the Harare Showgrounds. The passenger vehicle sales are based at Borrowdale Sam Levy’s Village and Club Chambers in Harare’s CBD.
